Former President of India and a nuclear scientist par eminence, APJ Abdul Kalam paid a special visit at Taurian World School. Kalam’s anecdotes, emphasis on values such as righteousness and integrity as well as his inspirational talk laced with unconventional wisdom held the students, parents, and other dignitaries of TWS totally delighted and spell bound. He displayed an uncanny knack in tackling questions that emerged from the innocent minds. To a poser on how terrorism can end Kalam smilingly said: “when people celebrate their differences rather than look at these differences as conflicts, terrorism will come to its logical end.” As for a remedy for chronic corruption plaguing the Indian democratic polity, Kalam affirmed that children of corrupt parents should persuade their fathers and mothers to stop being corrupt and the menace called corruption shall automatically end.
He persuaded the assembled students to aim high in life and achieve their aims through passion, hardwork, commitment and zeal. With that he bid adieu to all those assembled leaving the audience with fond memories to cherish.
