English Debate : Students are required to learn a Second Language in High School09 Jul 2014
The English department of TWS organized an English Debate Competition for students of Senior Secondary and Secondary School. The Principal Mr. D.R. Singh was the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by the AGM Business Development, Mr. Rakesh Bhandari and the Dean of Academics, Mr. Gyanesh Tripathi.
The debate was chaired by Ms. Parul Priya and was hosted by Ms. Yamini Singh. Topic of the debate was “Students are required to learn a Second Language in High School”. Participants were divided in two categories where participants spoke for or against the motion for 4 minutes and 2 minutes respectively.
(a) Category I : Students from Senior Secondary School
(b) Category II : Students from Secondary School
Results were judged by the Senior Secondary Academic Coordinator, Mrs Sarita Yadav and the Secondary Academic Coordinator, Mr. Vijay Paul

Mr. D.R. Singh praised the efforts of the students and sighted several errors in the language which goes unnoticed in our speech leading to the message being incorrectly interpreted. He encouraged students to use debates as a platform to make them more proficient. To develop the ability to understand and spontaneously think and communicate various forms of arguments effectively in a variety of contexts from either position with equal ease to counter the oppositions point.
