15th August 2018

Taurian World School commemorated the 72nd Independence Day with great favor on morning of 15th August 2018.  The ceremony began with the Principal, Dr. Subhash Kumar, hoisting the tri colour flag as a mark of respect to our mother land India and a tribute to our freedom fighters.

Dr. Subhash in his address paid tribute to all the freedom fighters and conveyed a thought provoking message of building a stronger independent  India. This was followed by Patriotic songs by the Musical Choir thanks to Mr. Basant Yadav, Musical Department HoD.

Later, Our Principal Dr. Subhash Kumar visited the Parasnath School in Village Hazam for hoisting the flag. He interacted with the school’s children and distributed sweets on this auspicious day.

Back at TWS, the second highlight of the day was the Final match between Lions and Tigers in the Taurian Soccer League – Second Edition.

TWS was honoured to have Chief Guest Ms. Rashmi Kumari, a football player,  who led India’s Team to play the First World School Football Cup under 18 tournament in Paris, France.  She had also played AFC Women’s Championship – India U-16 held at Srilanka in 2013 at the CR & FC Grounds, Colombo and many I-leagues too.

The Finals of the Taurian Soccer League was a thrill to watch where Team Lions proved that they were the real “Kings of the Jungle” scoring 4 goals in comparison to Team Tigers who had put only 2 in their pocket, taking the Trophy of the Taurian Soccer League – Second Edition.

Mast. Sanket’s double after the second half for the Tigers was not enough against the ferocious Lions (Shubham Kumar scored 2, Joel scored 1 and Harsha Deo scored 1) who snatched the trophy from the Tiger’s clutches.
