Indian International Model United Nations (IIMUN), Ranchi Chapter to be hosted by Taurian World School from 2017-2020

Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda. The participant’s role is to play as diplomats representing a nation or NGO in a simulated session of the United Nations. Participants research a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult and then develop solutions to world problems. As many states move to implement standards for global citizenship, MUN is proving to be an innovative resource to prepare students for career and college success. The MUN conferences are not only a gateway to understanding the problems of the world and combat them, but it also enables holistic development in a child which is the vision of Taurian World School.

The list of luminaries who have supported and attended IIMUN conferences includes H.E. Ban-ki-Moon, Former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Shri. Piyush Goyal, Union Cabinet Minister of Railways; Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, Legendary Actor; Mr. Kaushik Basu, Senior Vice-President, World Bank; Shri. Mohan Bhagwat, Chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS); Prime Ministers of Sri Lanka and Nepal, Bollywood Celebrities such as Vidya Balan, Aftab Shivdasani, Imran Khan, Vir Das, Ronnie Screwvala, Rohit Shetty, Shiamak Davar, Terence Lewis and many more.

With immense pleasure we would like to say that the IIMUN Ranchi Chapter 2017 will take place at our school from April 27th – 29th, 2018.
IIMUN, World’s Largest Youth Organisation is coming to the city of Ranchi for the third edition of its IIMUN Ranchi Chapter.
