The Model United Nations (also Model UN or MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations in which students participate as delegates of different countries to various UN Committees. Participants at MUN conferences are assigned a country within a certain committee prior to the conference. The event is open to all High School (VIII+) and College students (only UG 1st year) across the country. A greater cultural awareness is encouraged as MUN students do thorough research of the political and socio-economic issues of all the UN countries for debate. As delegates must represent the views of their assigned country. The Srinidhi MUN Conference was unique in that it gave exposure to global awareness, social networking and academic success and future educational prospects. It was a great learning experience for our students. They gained more confidence in public speaking. Improved interactive and organizational skills – it was an entirely student led affair. Good exposure to a smart and focused student community from well reputed international schools. They learned to make position and working papers. They learned to draft resolutions for and against the positions taken up by various countries on crucial issues.
