We are proud to be the recipient of the British Council International School Award from 2015 to 2018. So we have the esteemed honour and privilege to use the new ISA Kite mark for the next three years on our school communication and other publications during the period of accreditation.

CBSE Affiliation

Taurian World school is proud to be affiliated to CBSE vide Affiliation Number: 3430229. The main objective of CBSE was to serve the educational institutions more effectively, to be responsive to the educational needs of those students whose parents were employed in the Central Government and had frequently transferable jobs. The prime focus of the Board is on:

  • Innovations in teaching-learning methodologies by devising student friendly and students centered paradigms
  • Reforms in examinations and evaluation practices
  • Skill learning by adding job-oriented and job-linked inputs
  • Regularly updating the pedagogical skills of the teachers and administrators by conducting in-service training programmes, workshops etc.

The International Award for Young People

The Award Programme was first introduced in the United Kingdom in 1956 as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. The aim was to motivate young people aged between 14 and 25 years to become involved in a balanced programme of voluntary self-development activities to take them through the potentially difficult period between adolescence and adulthood.

The Award’s concept is one of individual challenge, giving young people a balanced, non-competitive programme of voluntary activities which encourage personal discovery and growth, self-reliance, perseverance, responsibility to themselves and service to their community, either individually or as part of a team.

The basic structure of the Award consists of 4 mandatory sections Service, Adventurous Journey, Skills and Physical Recreation. There are 3 levels of the Award – Bronze, Silver & Gold. Participants can undertake all three categories of the Award programme or enter directly at any of the three levels in the following age group; Bronze Award (for those over 14), Silver Award (for those over 15) and Gold Award (for those over 16 years).

PHYSICAL RECREATION:
This section aims to encourage participation in physical recreation and improvement of performance. This Section encourages participants to improve their personal physical performance through training and perseverance in their chosen activity.

SKILLS:
The aim of this section is to encourage the discovery and development of personal interests and social, practical and traditional skills. This section stimulate new interests or improve the existing ones.

SERVICE:
The aim of this section is to learn how to give useful service to others. To learn how to give useful service to others. This Section seeks to give participants a sense of responsibility to each other and the community, and to help them become better citizens. Participants needs to undertake an
activity in which they give service to others, and should learn and benefit from undertaking this service.

ADVENTUROUS JOURNEY:
Adventurous Journey aims to encourage a spirit of adventure and discovery. This Section seeks to provide participants with a unique, challenging and memorable experience.

RESIDENTIAL PROJECT (Gold level only):
Residential Project aims to broaden experience through involvement with others in a residential setting by choosing a purposeful activity with people who are not usual companies, in an unfamiliar residential setting. Minimum 5 days and 4 nights.

This award recognizes Schools doing exemplary work in shaping the future of the students by nurturing young learners and providing a platform for them to learn and share best practices across various fields. The parameters for evaluation was based upon the involved efforts made by the schools in shaping their student careers and on the results achieved by students owing to the support from the school.
