The School is celebrating “Literary Quest” from the 14th April, 2018. During this week of language learning, we have been conducting various activities to hone written and spoken expressions in our students and to foster reading habit within them. Apart from corridor displays, exhibition of students work and theme based assemblies; the English Department has organized a series of activities appropriate for various Grade levels. The school wore a festive look with colourful posters and copies of students work on display.
The week started on 17th April with an assembly during which Dr. Subhash Kumar, the Principal, talked to the children about the importance of reading. The students also did poem recitation and storytelling during the assembly. During the day all the students from Grades VI to VIII also participated in “Gallery Walk” where the pictures of eminent writers along with their major contribution in the field of Literature were on display. Students carried their notepads and wrote down the information which will be asked in the “Quiz” scheduled to be held next week. The students were give DEAR time half an hour everyday throughout the week.
On Wednesday, 18th April, the students did “Poetry Illustration Activity”, based on poems from various ages and countries to kindle love for the poetic form and drawing.
All the students were taken to the assembly hall for “Movie: View & Review” on 19th April. Students also watched the movie named, “To Sir With Love”. Students enjoyed the movie very much and wrote down their review about the movie.
Overall, the Literary Quest brought the students closer to the magic of Language and Literature.
