SPIC MACAY FESTIVAL 2022

A Rajasthani Folk Dance & Kalbelia Gypsy Dance performance under the aegis of Spic Macay took place on 17th December, 2022 at 11: 30 a.m. in the Amphitheatre of Taurian World School, Ranchi.

The act was presented by Mr. Bhungarkhan Manganiyar & his Troupe. The artists belonged to a traditional musical family in Rajasthan. Bhungar Khan Group is a name that finds special mention and great respect among the folk music circuits of Rajasthan. Today they sing a wide repertoire of traditional Folk- and Sufi songs. The special style of the Manganiyar Folk Music called Jangra includes a universe of songs for all occasions in life.

The programme began with a welcome speech by Sanika Karna of Grade 8. The artists known for their ability to create heavenly music that soothes the mind, body and soul, displayed a unique presentation portraying a distinctive amalgamation of various songs and dances of Rajasthani culture. At the end of the event, Mrs. Bela Prasad, Hindi Teacher, thanked the troupe in a traditional way followed by valuable inputs by Principal Dr. Subhash Kumar.

Such programs are an opportunity for the students to learn the true essence of Hindustani Classical music.
