Visit to IIT Bhubaneshwar
It is to convey that as an initiative of Taurian Entrance Guidance Cell (TEGC) three of our students Mast. Sayantan Majumder XIIA, Mast. Sukrit Katriar XA and Mast. Satyam Kumar XIIB, participated in a presentation session at IIT Bhubaneswar from 12th – 14th January 2018.
They presented a topic “ Role of Technology in Society Development” in which they discussed about Role of different kind of Technology such as Robotics, Digital media, Internet etc. in major fields such as Education, Agriculture, Traffic control, Sports and cleanliness of the country.
Mast. Sayantan Majumder was highly appreciated by jury members for his energetic way of presentation.
Our students also got a chance to visit Photonics lab and Material science lab of IIT Bhubaneswar with Mr. Sumit Dass and Mr. Chanda (Phd Scholars at IIT Bhubaneswar).
At Photonics lab, Mr. Sumit explained the concept of optical fibers with live demonstration of propagation of high power LASER through 20 Micrometer fiber. He also discussed about his own research entitled as “Diaphragm based Single mode Optical fiber taper acoustic sensor” with 57 micrometer optical fiber.
At Material Science lab, Mr. Chanda explained the concept of fuel cell with live demonstration of 5 stack fuel cell with production of 1.5 volt. He also discussed about his research on fuel cell in which he is trying to develop cost effective fuel cell by replacing platinum electrode with some other alloys.
Overall, the visit happened to be a good learning exposure and motivation for our students.
