Cell Structure and Function

It’s not too surprising that the Earth is so hospitable to life- we would never have evolved enough to wonder about it if it weren’t.

But when you start to look at all of the things that have come together in just the perfect way to support plants and animals, it gets a little mind boggling.

It’s not just about air, water, and distance from the sun. It’s also Cell.

Cells are the basic building blocks of all living things. They provide structure for the body, take in nutrients from the food, covert those nutrients into energy, and carry out specialized functions.

Children of Grade 8 showed great enthusiasm in participating in the class activity to understand what makes life possible on earth. They prepared dioramas to express their ideas on the structure and it’s function. It was great learning experience for them. Please see some videos below of their demonstration of a cell.
