Subtraction Activity

Students of Grade 1 performed a group activity on subtraction under the guidance of their Maths teacher.

They were given a white sheet of paper and asked to draw few shapes on it.

They were then instructed to keep their palm on the sheet so as to cover some shapes and draw the outline.

They then coloured the area on the sheet covered by the outline of the palm and counted the number of shapes which were present inside it.

They then subtracted the number of coloured shapes from the total number of shapes drawn in the sheet.

This activity helped them to visualise the concept under study and also enhanced their thinking and motor skills.
