Grade 4 – ‘Into a poet’s shoes’

Students of Grade 4 thoroughly enjoyed thinking like poets.They pitched into the poem ‘I Asked the Little Boy Who Cannot See’ where they learnt about Poetic device-Imagery!  They worked in pairs. While one closed their eyes, the other prompted a colour. This would lead the person with closed eyes to mention and then make a list of all the images created in his/her mind followed by discussions of their thoughts.  This helped them understand the concept and feel the theme of the poem as well-as how a person without vision can create images in his/her mind by other senses and relate to things around them.
