TWS IN ASSOCIATION WITH IPCA, CELEBRATED NATIONAL SPORTS DAY
“The more difficult the victory, the greater the happiness in winning.”
Playing sports, whether team-based or individual, is essential for children as they provide not just physical activity, but also help build children’s self-esteem, confidence, social skills and motivates them to excel in life.
In recognition of the importance of sports in one’s life, Taurian World School, in association with Indian Pierre De Coubertin Association (IPCA), celebrated National Sports Day on 29th August 2022 to give tribute to the Legendary Hockey Player Major Dhyan Chand and inculcate the feeling of true sportsmanship among the children and to enhance their physical and social skills.
On this occasion, all the students from LKG to Grade XII were involved in various sports activities. A morning Yoga session involving staff and students followed by Interhouse Football Tournament was organized where all the students participated whole-heartedly and with great enthusiasm and zeal. Evening time witnessed involvement of the students in various other sports such as Horse Riding, Archery, Table Tennis and Lawn Tennis too.
The students were also told about the importance of ‘Sports’ and the relevance of National Sports Day during inaugural match of the Interhouse Football Tournament where they learnt about true sportsmanship and the value of playing games.
