Raksha Bandhan Celebration

Life is all about the love we share and the bond and relations we have and make throughout.

There are many different relationships which we establish in our life and we have different ways to show our love and affection towards everyone.

One such important relationship is between siblings, which is extraordinary and is given importance in every part of the world.

The bonding between a brother and a sister is simply unique and is beyond description in words. In India, the relationship becomes all the more important as there is a festival called “Raksha Bandhan” dedicated to sibling love.

Raksha Bandhan is made up of two words – ‘Raksha’ means protection and ‘Bandhan’ signifies the verb – to tie. So, on this occasion – ‘Raakhi’ or ‘the knot of protection’ is tied among siblings specially by a sister to her brother.

Our Primary students, under the guidance of their Art teacher, worked really enthusiastically to make beautiful Raakhis for their siblings in their Art class.

Using various kinds of materials like rice, pulses, coloured papers, ribbon, bangle, pencil shavings, beads, wool and thread, they prepared some really mesmerising raakhis.

Preparing the raakhis thus, also helped in developing the motor skills of the young ones.

They were very excited to showcase their final work to everyone so here we have some of the beautiful handmade Raakhis by our very own kiddos.
