Story Telling Competition

Reading and sharing stories can help your child get to know sounds, words and language, and develop early literacy skills. Learn to value books and stories; help develop your child’s brain, ability to focus, concentration, social skills and communication skills.

Stories play a vital role in the growth and development of children. The books they read and the characters they get to know can become like friends.

Under the “Language Café” programme in the primary section, a Virtual Story telling competition was organized on 4th February, 2022 for the classes LKG- 5.

The Competition was organized into two groups:

Group1: Grade LKG to Grade 2

Group 2: Grade 3 to Grade 5

Group 1 students had to select one of their favorite items; display it and speak a minimum of 5 lines about the same. They were allowed to speak both in English & Hindi. The criteria for judging them were: eye contact, voice clarity & pronunciation.

The winners of the Group 1 competition were:

  1. Rimil Pahan of Grade UKG
  2. Harshavardhan Das of Grade 1
  3. Ayaan Jain of Grade 2

Group 2 students had to recite a story in Hindi or English for 3 minutes. The criteria for judging them were: Body language, Confidence, Voice modulation & Props used.

The winners of the Group 2 competition were:

Grade3

  1. Arsh Sahay – 1st Position
  2. Vanessa Lakra – 2nd Position

Grade4

  1. Kriyang Pathak – 1st Position
  2. Dabeet Singh – 2nd Position

Grade5

  1. Sampoorn Mukherjee – 1st Position
  2. Aashvi Kashyap – 2nd Position

The competition was successfully conducted under the support and guidance of the principal Dr.Subash Kumar and the academic coordinator Mrs. Keathi Sharma. The teachers who contributed to the success were Ms. Sadaf Rahman with opening speech, Ms. Rimjhim Bagchi as anchor, Ms. Taniya Ghosh Along with Mrs. Keathi as the Judges and Ms. Sunita Sinha, Ms. Sujata Singh, Ms. Udita chakraborty, Ms. Sima Das as the incharges.
