Visit to a Village – Learning Beyond Classroom
As part of the syllabus, our Grade IX students were exposed to learning beyond classroom when they were learning about the chapter “Poverty as a challenge” in Economics Subject.
Under the guidance of their teachers, Ms. Soniya, Mr. Vijay Sinha, Ms. Jyoti, Ms. Komal, Mr. Supriya, Mr. Danish and Mr. Kevin, they conducted a survey in a nearby village on economic perspective. The objective of the survey was to make the students know the real scenario in India as well as the world.
The Teachers and the Students were divided into 5 groups. Each group collected data of at least 8-10 people. Post the survey, the students distributed masks and spread awareness about Covid19 too.
Learning outcome:- Through this activity we found out that the people of Village Hazam were having lack of awareness about the government schemes and that is why they were not able to utilize the privileges which can be helpful in uplifting them financially.
Irrespective of their condition, the locals were very polite, cooperative and humble.
The students had a nice time with them while they learnt collaboration, communication and sensitivity towards poor people which will help them to be humble and a good human being in the society.
