TWS Annual Sports Meet 2016-17
As Bobby Unser once said “Success is where preparation and opportunity meet”, and this could not be further from the truth, when today, 11th February, 2017 Taurian held it’s Annual Sports Day.
Dr. Subhash Kumar, Principal in his opening address welcomed Mr. Nagendra Nath Sinha, IAS, Principal Secretary, Dept. of Rural Development, as Chief Guest and invited him to raise the Sports flag to mark the start of the Annual Sports Meet. Mr. N.N. Sinha, is also a Sports enthusiasts and his achievement in the area of Sports include conceptualization of Sports complexes built for National Games, Schemes for Awards and stipendiary support to sportspersons, Youth policy, constitution of Sports Authority of Jharkhand.
The synchronized march past lead by the rolling of the drum beats brought a sense of dignity and pride to the contingents as they gave a salute to the Chief Guest. The Annual Sports was declared open with the lighting of the tourch and taking of the oath, a symbol of fair play and true spirit of sportsmanship.
The field was alive with high spirits, colour, and a buzz of activities. It was a delight to watch the graceful horse trotting and control as they crisscrossed in perfect formation. There was a lot of excitement as students raced through the tracks proud to bring home another point to their team. The house jersey they adorned being more important than their name. The students even went on to win the boys and girls 4×200 meter relay against the staff. It was also a privilege to have the children of Wee World School attend and participate on this grand occasion.
The Annual Sports Meet came to an exciting close with parents winning the Tug-Of-War against the teachers.
